Speakeasy is an action/adventure series set in 1920’s North Carolina amidst the chaos of the Prohibition era. Originally inspired by the Old Nick Williams micro-distillery just outside of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the series represents the story of thousands of families whose livelihoods were destroyed as federal officers made their way through the back country - smashing and burning any small distilleries that didn’t have the capital to pay them off.

The story follows young, ambitious bootlegger Colin and his best friend Sam, an African American speakeasy owner and former apprentice to Colin’s father, at the hight of Prohibition as they attempt to rebuild Colin’s family distilling company. However, if they hope to provide for their families they must avoid both the ruthless local tobacco baron, local law enforcement, and an overly zealous federal agent while secretly learning the business of moonshine.

The series will feature the glitz and glamour, grit, politics, culture, and industry of the roaring 20’s in the deep South while heroes and villains fight to navigate the minefields of love, loss, and whiskey.
